CarPool's Age and I.D. Policies
It is against the law in Virginia to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone under
21 years of age.
To ensure that we comply with the law, it is our policy not to allow people
under 21 to enter any part of our premises. If there are no underage people on the premisis, there will be no underage drinking.
Our door staff will request ID from everyone they believe looks younger than 35,
so if you are upright and breathing, there is a good chance you will be carded.
The following forms of ID are acceptable under Virginia Law:
Valid Drivers' License
Armed Forces ID Cards
Valid Passports and Visas
Special ID cards issued by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles
Any valid ID issued by a federal or state agency
Student ID's are not acceptable. All valid forms of ID must contain a photograph and signature of the subject, along with height and date of birth. An ID with an expired date is not acceptable.
The only exceptions to our age policy are as follows:
1.) People under 21 are allowed on the premises before 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday and on Saturdays and Sundays. Those are very quiet times and it is daylight, so it's easy for our staff to monitor them.
2.) Small children may enter at any time if accompanied by an adult. "Small" means "too short to see over the bar". The term "small children" does not include teenagers. If we allowed teenagers to enter, people could suspect they might try to buy or consume alcohol. This applies whether or not they are
accompanied by adults.
We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone showing signs of intoxication.
