FREEHAND BARBEQUE SAUCE

 

John Snedden, ROCKLANDS’ grill-master extraordinaire, threw this sauce together on camera with Holly Morris of Fox Five Morning News. Try it on your own grilling adventures! 

o          Ketchup

o          Cider vinegar

o          White vinegar

o          Chopped onion

o          Brown sugar

o          Blackstrap molasses

o          Lemon juice

o          Crushed red pepper

o          Cumin

o          Black pepper

o          Cayenne

In a large saucepan, throw all ingredients together in quantities that feel right to you. Heat to the boiling point to soften and slightly cook the onions.

Put whatever you’re grilling on the grill. When you flip your meat, chicken, or veg to the second side, brush the sauce on the “done” side. Serve extra sauce on the side.
